Duncan Disorderly & The Scallywags

IMG_9632

Duncan Disorderly & the Scallywags are not like your normal band. Its more a way of life! Living eating and breathing music. They live together as a comunity and Music is how they survive.

With their world rhythms, positive lyrics and catchy melodies Duncan Disorderly & The Scallywags ALWAYS get the whole crowd jumping! Weather its 20 people in the corner of a small pub or 5000 people at one of the UK’ Leading festivals!

Duncan Disorderly & The Scallywags have been spotted at nearly every UK festival and you may have also seen them playing and walking the Paris marathon in aid of Music For Youth Charity. It’s non stop for the Scallywags and travelling on the road has become a way of life.

Duncan Disorderly & The Scallywags began their musical journey in 2010. With exceptional influences from Latin and Reggae to Gypsy and Swing/Jazz; charismatic Duncan and his Scallywags never fail to entertain. It isn’t all sweet jazz and chilled Reggae ‘smokers’, The Scallywags do love diversity with a few ‘banging’ party tunes not going amiss in a late night show.

Having already toured Amsterdam, Italy and Spain and played shows in the UK at Glastonbury, Nozstock, Secret Garden Party and Sunrise, The Scallywags have notably headlined festivals such as Buddhafields, The Green Gathering, Small World, St Boi Alternativa Festival, Trontano Open Air Festival and Wild Heart. It seems the only way is up for The Green Gathering’s ‘Best Band On Site 2012’ winners!

Duncan Disorderly is a very talented songwriter and has a very unique style of playing the guitar! Using the spanish guitar more like a drum, taking influence from Flamenco and “Rodrigo Y Gabriella.” He has created a whole new technique enabling him to be the drums and the guitar at the same time with minimal effort providing the band with a solid backbeat and driving rhythm. His songs range in styles including Gypsy – Swing- Hip Hop- Reggae – Rumba -Latin. He has a way with words to tell you a story that will take you on a journey or just give you a little inspiration.

“He’s like bob marley meets manu chao, A legend in the making” – Didier – Magic Garden Pub.

There have been many great Scallywags along the way!! but recently they have setteled to a core 5,

  • Sara – Mandolin
  • Gus – Gypsy Guitar
  • Robin – Bass
  • Finn – Drums (Hi hats n snare)
  • Duncan Disorderly – Guitar

Providing world class musician ship and dedication second to none, they work together to create the tight music that is the heart and soul of the Goodtimes. With heartfelt harmonies and unforgetable hooks they get the crowd involved and love what they do. Enticing  the audience into a hypnotic dance, singin and shouting all the way. Together they work as one to create the unique sounds of the Scallywags.

Oi oi! Just got back from Glasto where we saw you twice.. once at Lost Horizon.. and then at the small world stage at 3am (I was the guy in stripy trousers dancing before you started because I knew what was coming and wanted to get the sleepy vibe in there up a bit!!) Really loved you and have probably over-played your ep now, though it’s playing now as I write!! …
Was wondering what you charge for playing at parties?
Also can I go on a list or something to be notified when you bring more music out?
Lots of love and thanks for great festival memories.

We landed at a Misty in Roots concert at the brilliant venue Concorde2 Brighton unaware of or that Duncan and the Scallywags were supporting, they had just started as we walked in and I can honestly say I was blown away by their musical energy of the many scallywags which so complemented the uplifting vocals. The vibe they gave off was worthy of main headliners and I will definitely be checking them out in the future….. Thank you for keeping great music live….

Saw this band at tribal earth. I’m not usually into this style if music. However within 2 songs I was in the front row dancing all night and aching the next morning. Absolutely amazingly energy and superbly skillfull. Highlight of my festival. Could play anywhere and draw in huge crowds. I love this band! Thank you! With love Matt. Peace! Xxxxxx
